Carl Philipp Riedel (MSc) is the founder and managing director of AGENPA. He is an agricultural and development economist. He has extensive experience in the agricultural and renewable energy sector with regard to feasibility studies, economic appraisal and project development.

Prior to setting up AGENPA , he was Manager of the Bioenergy Research Team at LMC International and has played a leading role in a wide range of consultancy projects. He has also worked for ADM, a multinational agribusiness company, the European Commission and the United Nations Food and Agricultural Organisations (FAO).

He holds a Masters degree in International Development Management from the London School of Economics as well as a masters degree in International Agricultural Economics from the Humboldt-University of Berlin. He speaks regularly at international conferences.




Thilo Zelt (M.Sc., M.A.) is a partner of AGENPA and an experienced consultant, business developer and entrepreneur. He has ten years experience in consultancy working with Roland Berger Strategy Consultants, is president of the Jatropha Alliance and managing director of INOCAS GmbH, a project-development company focusing on alternative plant oils. He is an expert in the field of renewable energy, cleantech and energy grids.

He has been advisor for PE funds and project developers on business and project development, acquisition and financing of renewable energy projects in Central and Eastern Europe and implemented agricultural projects in Africa and Latin America. He holds and MSc in Economics and Management form Humboldt University Berlin and a MA in German Literature after studying in Munich, Lausanne, Irvine and Berlin.




John Hodges (MBA, MSc) works as an associate at AGENPA. He holds an MBA and an MSc In African Studies from Oxford University, which he attended on Rhodes Scholarship. After stints in equity investment analysis and NGO-sector consulting, he followed his passion into the energy sector with a distributed solar start-up in Tanzania. He also worked for a private equity company, where he developed and analysed investments into the application of renewable and micro-grid technologies in Latin America and Africa.




Rouven Faasch (MSc, Dipl-Kfm, Diplome de Grande Ecole) worked as an associate at AGENPA and supports the team on a project basis. He holds a MSc in Management from ESCP Europe and in Ecological Economics from University of Edinburgh. Rouven has experience in project management and economic assessment of energy projects through his work at European utilities and financial companies.




Felix Riedel (Dipl.-Ing) works as a project assistant on market research and technical due diligence. He graduated from the Technical University Dresden in mechanical engineering with the main focus in construction of agricultural machinery. He recently finished assignments assessing different biogas and biomass power plants. He also worked for the John Deere company and AGCO corporation.
